  • Naomi Herrera

    Naomi Herrera is a devoted advocate for hope and recovery, drawing from a profound personal history of mental health and addiction experiences. With a career spanning more than a decade in roles such as Peer Supporter, Supervisor, and System-level Liaison across diverse sectors, from nonprofits to a Fortune 50 corporation and peer-led initiatives, Naomi has leveraged her firsthand experiences to emerge as a prominent figure within the peer support community.

    A relentless pursuer of personal growth, Naomi consistently ventures beyond her comfort zone, embracing change and evolution as fundamental elements of her ongoing journey. Her array of certifications, apprenticeships, and mentorships forms a rich tapestry of conscious healing and transformation, encompassing disciplines ranging from wholeness recovery to empowerment coaching, Toltec teachings, and Curanderismo.

    Through her academic pursuits, personal projects, and community engagements, Naomi is an inventive and collaborative leader dedicated to fostering community empowerment. Beyond the corporate sphere, she shares her narrative of resilience and post traumatic growth on an international stage, including global platforms, conferences, and as a published co-author.

    In her leisure time, Naomi is an avid cyclist who co-founded a community recovery ride catering to individuals navigating trauma, mental health and addiction recovery, and their allies. Her passion for cycling serves as a poignant metaphor for her life journey, symbolizing her ceaseless quest to break boundaries and explore uncharted territories.

  • Christopher Poulos

    Christopher Poulos is an attorney, speaker, writer, and consultant. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Justice and Human Dignity and has served as the Executive Director of the Washington Statewide Reentry Council. Poulos also developed a course on drug law and policy that he taught at Seattle University School of Law. He regularly speaks and writes about his path from addiction and incarceration to college, law school, the White House and beyond. His work and personal story have been featured on The Today Show and in The GuardianThe New York TimesWashington PostNBC NewsThe HillCrosscutThe Epoch Times and The Harvard Law and Policy Review. Poulos was selected as one of Portland Magazine’s “Most Intriguing People” and as “Law Student of the Year” by National Jurist Magazine.

    Prior to his appointment to the Reentry Council, he served as Executive Director of Life of Purpose Treatment at the University of North Texas, where he was also an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice. During law school, he served at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and The Sentencing Project. Poulos has advised United States Senator Angus King (I-Maine) on addiction and justice policy and served on several national, state, and local task forces related to criminal justice policy. He graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law, where he was President of the American Constitution Society and represented children facing criminal charges as a student attorney in the Juvenile Justice Clinic.

    Poulos is a national leader in criminal justice policy and addiction recovery. He has spoken to diverse organizations across the United States – including federal prisons, large nonprofits, universities, and addiction recovery organizations. He also provides consulting on criminal justice policy, overcoming challenges and adversity, and addiction recovery.

    Prior to law school, Poulos overcame many obstacles, including tragic family losses, addiction, homelessness, and a federal incarceration. He now dedicates his life to helping others overcome or avoid similar challenges and he supports a public health-­based approach to addiction. His work promotes equal access to the law and seeks to end mass incarceration and the collateral consequences now facing the tens of millions of people with criminal convictions.

  • Felicia Guity

    Dr. Felicia Guity is an accomplished, award-winning sales, business development executive and board member who delivers on billion-dollar revenue goals through strategy, sales, digital marketing and technical platforms. She has a demonstrable record of more than 32 years formulating business strategy, driving organizational transformation, leading process improvement, team building and P&L enhancement while developing products and services. She has strong experience in alliances and joint ventures, opportunity and acquisition assessment, and high-value negotiations.

    Felicia currently works in Google’s Cloud organization in an Executive Leadership role reporting to Ben Treynor Sloss, VP of SRE. Ben originated the discipline of “Systems Reliability Engineering” at Google, now an industry-wide recognized term and concept. As Ben’s Chief of Staff, she will leverage her abilities in the area of people, programs and strategic planning at scale. She has worked at several large technology companies in her career but the most notable was her 18 year career at Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT).

    While at Microsoft, Felicia was promoted numerous times during her 18 year tenure. Rising from entry-level to the top 1% of company leadership — the first African American woman to do so. As a VP/General Manager, Worldwide Education Channel Strategy, Marketing & Programs, she delivers to a revenue goal of $18B through global, cross-company functional leadership roles overseeing a $394M annual budget to a less than 1% variance. Felicia leads the developing and institutionalizing of the education device channel business and pricing strategy, including sales models, marketing and incentive activities that enable Microsoft to achieve share and presence in the education segment.

    Previously, in her role of GM, Worldwide Channel Marketing & Incentives, Felicia oversaw the breadth channel of approximately 250,000 partners, driving up to $4B in direct revenue and impacting nearly $10B in revenue through multinational accounts at the point of distribution. She led the worldwide channel marketing efforts with Microsoft’s regional and local OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) partners, field sales and marketing teams. Felicia delivered culturally appropriate campaigns, advertisements and content, defining global engagement and influence models, while establishing marketing protocols and managing incentives, promotions, websites and portals.

    As GM, OEM MNA Account Marketing & Platform Sales Management, Felicia established executive-level communications and influence models with partnering companies that drove 95% of the revenue, or $18-22B, including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Acer, Acer, Samsung and Sony. She led the development and execution of worldwide marketing plans, joint marketing agreements and partner revenue targets that drove operating system sales and services in the channel.

    Prior to joining Microsoft, Felicia was the VP, Mergers & Acquisition Integration, for Lawson Software Inc. (now Infor), where she led the post-merger and integration process for all Lawson acquired entities. She also served as VP, Strategic Alliances, overseeing a $100M P&L.

    Felicia has served on several nonprofit boards: The Boys & Girls Club of America, We Connect the Dots, the Seattle Opera and was Board Chairman for Powerful Voices. She has been recognized with coveted awards including Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Business, Black Enterprise, 2017; Top Most Influential Women in Corporate America, Savoy Magazine, 2014; and Top Women Executive in Advertising & Marketing, Black Enterprise, 2013 and numerous others.

  • Amberly Schmitt

    Amberly is a Finance and Accounting professional with 15+ years of experience in a variety of industries based in the Puget Sound area.  With her experience in the industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to any organization looking for sound financial strategy and efficient utilization of resources. Her passion lies in building finance teams in a lean environment, utilizing technology and innovative solutions to maximize the human potential on her team.

    In addition to her professional accomplishments, Amberly is deeply involved in community service and has actively contributed to various non-profit organizations as a volunteer, donor and advocate.  She is especially passionate about meeting the social and emotional needs of the underserved populations of the south Puget Sound community.

    In her spare time, Amberly is an avid hiker and enjoys exploring the trails in and around the mountains as well as exploring various countries around the world. When she is not hiking or traveling, she is creating a whirlwind of chaos in her yard with her children and dogs.

  • Joe Lindstrom

    Joseph Lindstrom’s career spans more than 35 years in technology, with the last 20 years focused on cybersecurity and emerging technologies including IoT and analytics. He has held senior leadership positions at Cisco, Microsoft, Symantec, IBM, and two successful startups, leading a variety of functions including sales, marketing, professional services, business development, software development, and technical support.

    Throughout his career, Joseph has demonstrated a passion for learning and mentoring others. During his IBM tenure, he completed two masters’ programs and developed industry-specific knowledge in healthcare, power/energy, and financial services to increase his effectiveness in roles. At Microsoft, Joseph led large scale recruiting efforts by partnering with college recruiting teams and selected universities to source and provide early-in-career learning opportunities for students. Additionally, Joseph and his teams hosted multiple large scale cybersecurity competitions in the US and India that ultimately translated into first career opportunities for top performers.

    Along with an active business career, Joseph is a cyclist of several disciplines (road, mountain, cyclocross, and gravel), avid hiker, skier/snowboarder, and voracious traveler with his wife, Melissa. Together, they traveled to Antarctica in 2022, experiencing the “seventh continent” from sea kayaks and zodiacs. An active lifestyle in the outdoors is rooted from his formative years in Bend, Oregon.

    Since 2018, Joseph and Melissa have opened their home to University of Washington Medical School students across five states for temporary housing during rotations at Seattle area healthcare facilities. With short-term housing expensive and difficult to obtain, their home provides a no-cost, comfortable and convenient location for students with a demanding schedule.

    Joseph is committed to helping organizations and individuals in need, utilizing his professional experiences and personal passions to make a positive impact. He is eager to contribute to the vision of Recovery Beyond and is thrilled with the opportunity to serve the team and community.

  • Britany Ferrell

    Britany is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and spent the formative years of her adult life living and working on the beautiful continent of Africa. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, worked for Doctors Without Borders in South Africa and did the majority of her graduate work in Public Health while living in Tanzania and Zambia. The six years she spent in these countries left a lasting impact and ignited a professional and personal passion to support health outcomes on a population level, as well as a deep desire to connect vulnerable communities to resources they need and improve health access. With the education, the experience and the relationships formed in Africa, especially in Ghana, Britany went on to found a 501c3 non-profit called Health Resource Partners in 2018 with a mission to improve health outcomes for rural communities. After moving back to America, she landed in Seattle and began working in the field of behavioral health. Today, Britany works for AMFM Healthcare and in her role she has the opportunity to connect patients and families with the mental health and/or addiction treatment services that are most appropriate. Behavioral health resources can be so hard to find and the barriers are endless, especially when folks are in crisis. Britany finds immense satisfaction in being able to close those gaps and get people connected to the services they have been searching for and is equally excited to serve as a board member with Recovery Beyond to continue supporting individuals on their recovery journey. In her free time, Britany enjoys traveling the world, hiking, sailing, staying active and volunteering/giving back to causes she is passionate about.

  • Brad Halbach

    Brad is an entrepreneur and investor who has built and sold successful companies in the home accessories market. He is also an experienced IT and software development executive. He currently designs and builds outdoor recreation facilities under his brand, High Trek Adventures, and is an active investor and mentor to technology startups.

    Brad has served as a board member for Timberlake Church in Redmond and is actively involved in Acres of Diamonds as a investor, advisor, and Volunteer. Brad participated in the Climbing Out of Homelessness program as a community climber and summited Mt Rainier in 2017.

  • Mark Perry

    Mark Perry has over 35 years’ experience in Sales, Marketing and general management that covers a broad range of roles in the Information Technology (IT) industry, most recently at Microsoft, Inc. where he served an illustrious 25-year career and retired in October 2019. During his tenure at Microsoft, he led teams that focused on product strategy, sales, marketing, and customer service. He was in a general manager position for the majority of his tenure which enabled him to sharpen his business skills along with people leadership. He will say he is a lifetime learner. Defining a business strategy with clear priorities is what he believes enables people to realize their potential and that is what Mark believes defines success in any organization. And that leadership is not a position or a title, it is action and example that applies in his life every day whether it is personal, a professional role or public service.     He enjoys working with innovative people and areas to advance one’s personal growth. And he really enjoys being on the edge. Since retiring he has been fortunate to utilize his background to assist businesses in shaping their strategic direction and priorities. He currently serves on the advisory board for companies like Officium Labs to drive improvements in customer experience. Along with talentsky as they explore the potential to recognize new ways of skills development.

    Over the years he has always enjoyed being outside whether that is spending time on a trail hiking, cycling on pavement (or dirt), and in a river (or on a lake) fishing which provides him with a connection to nature while finding a relaxing harbor to reenergize. With his wife Deb, they have experienced multiple cycling tours to places like Vietnam, Italy, and Croatia. In 2019 they enjoyed a wonderful hike in Italy trekking the Dolomites. He does have a passion for fishing around the Pacific Northwest and in places like Baja, British Columbia, and Alaska. He also works closely with Washington Trails Association (WTA) on trail maintenance teams and assisting to advocate for being outdoors as a healthy life choice.

    In addition to his business and personal interests, Mark and Deb have several philanthropic interests where they contribute their time, talents, and financial contributions, whether that is in a contributor role or as leaders. They work with non-profits like Medical Teams International (MTI), and visited places like Uganda, Mexico, Guatemala, and Lebanon. He contributes to Seattle Union Gospel Church, Acres of Diamonds, Sophia Way and most recently has been working with Humanize Homelessness to assist in every way possible as he has a deep concern for people unsheltered and in need.

    Mark has always had a strong interest in giving back, utilizing his career and personal experiences to help those in need and do everything he can to help the local communities. He believes philanthropy is the love of mankind. And he looks forward to assisting in any way he can and feels there is a complete alignment with his interests and the vision of Recovery Beyond. He looks forward to serving the team and the community served as best as he possibly can.
