Britany is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and spent the formative years of her adult life living and working on the beautiful continent of Africa. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, worked for Doctors Without Borders in South Africa and did the majority of her graduate work in Public Health while living in Tanzania and Zambia. The six years she spent in these countries left a lasting impact and ignited a professional and personal passion to support health outcomes on a population level, as well as a deep desire to connect vulnerable communities to resources they need and improve health access. With the education, the experience and the relationships formed in Africa, especially in Ghana, Britany went on to found a 501c3 non-profit called Health Resource Partners in 2018 with a mission to improve health outcomes for rural communities. After moving back to America, she landed in Seattle and began working in the field of behavioral health. Today, Britany works for AMFM Healthcare and in her role she has the opportunity to connect patients and families with the mental health and/or addiction treatment services that are most appropriate. Behavioral health resources can be so hard to find and the barriers are endless, especially when folks are in crisis. Britany finds immense satisfaction in being able to close those gaps and get people connected to the services they have been searching for and is equally excited to serve as a board member with Recovery Beyond to continue supporting individuals on their recovery journey. In her free time, Britany enjoys traveling the world, hiking, sailing, staying active and volunteering/giving back to causes she is passionate about.
